(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Vice President of the Higher Shiite Council Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan discussed the disputed issue of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon with the country’s top officials Tuesday.
“Lebanon is entrusted to politicians of whom it is demanded that they preserve the country and its people and work on establishing security and stability away from chaos,” Qabalan said.
He called on politicians to remain alert vis-a-vis attempts to instigate strife. Qabalan telephoned President Michel Sleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani, urging them to contain tensions.
